Lowering Drug Costs: The soaring cost of prescription drugs is more than a financial issue—it’s a matter of life and well-being. I will fight to lower drug prices by advocating for policy changes that increase transparency, encourage competition, and allow for the negotiation of drug prices by Medicare. It’s time to put the health of our citizens over the profits of drug companies.

Reforming Healthcare Systems: Building on the framework established by the Affordable Care Act, I am dedicated to creating a more efficient, more accessible healthcare system that better serves the needs of our community. This means cutting red tape, expanding coverage options, and making sure that healthcare plans are customizable to individual needs without compromising quality or affordability.

Protecting Patient-Doctor Relationships: I stand firm in the belief that medical decisions should be made in the doctor’s office, not the insurance company. We will introduce legislation ensuring that insurance providers cannot override a doctor’s prescription based on cost-saving algorithms. Your health should be determined by professional medical judgment, not by an insurance provider’s bottom line.

Supporting Our Seniors: Our senior citizens have contributed a lifetime to our society; it’s our duty to support them in their golden years. I propose expanding Medicare to cover more senior care services, including long-term care, and ensuring that our elders have access to the compassionate and comprehensive care they deserve.

Enhancing Veteran Care: Veterans have served our nation with honor, and it is our privilege to serve them in return. We must ensure that VA healthcare systems are fully funded, modernized, and expanded to provide our veterans with the full range of medical services they require. This includes increasing access to mental health services, specialized care, and ensuring no veteran is forced to endure long waiting periods for treatment. My commitment is to a VA system that is as resilient and efficient as the heroes it serves.

I understand that health is a deeply personal but universally important aspect of life. My vision for our healthcare system is not rooted in abstract policy but in the real and often painful struggles faced by individuals like my late father, who battled cancer for 18 years. I’ve witnessed firsthand the distress caused by insurance battles over billing and access to care—struggles that no family should endure in times of such hardship. Moreover, my own challenges as a disabled veteran, struggling just to secure an initial appointment with the VA after four months, underscore the systemic flaws I am determined to fix. These experiences drive my resolve to reform our healthcare systems, ensuring that every citizen and every veteran receives the care and respect they deserve without delay or red tape. In District 12, I will work tirelessly to reform our healthcare system so that it is not just efficient and fair but also compassionate and responsive to the needs of all who have given so much to our nation. My policies are designed not as a political statement but as a commitment to the well-being of every person in our district.
